  1. A Catholic Man says:

I wish you good fortunes in your continuing ministry. I pray God may indeed bless you both. And may he provide you enough means for support while you find your way. (I do wish I could help in these hard times: I can certainly pray!).

As a person who enjoys movies/television more than what they should be enjoyed, I certainly appreciate the project you are embarked in. Plato, of course, realized the tremendous impact of Art upon the soul, which is why he would have it censored in his Republic. We moderns believe in absolute (or almost absolute) freedom of artistic expression, and hence we end up with the society we have. I do believe one of the reasons why our culture has decayed as far as it has is precisely because of the influence of art/entertainment which promotes the wrong message wrapped in high quality artistic overtones. It is our duty, and part of your new job (when the foundation is up and running), to show the world that artistic form cannot be separated from the philosophical content which it promotes, and that, in the end, the art which promotes vice against virtue will never be truly beautiful in its core.

It is a tall order! But there is one positive route to this work: true Beauty. Our culture still accepts the truly Beautiful as an influence. Therefore, we must promote that which is thoroughly Beautiful, for in doing so we will be promoting Him, who is Beauty itself, and who redeemed the world to The Father through the Incarnation.

Please have faith with your project! It is very essential in our time.

  2. I got the image of Britain being a Catholic country once again from the Spectator magazine where the advert is.

    Best regards,
    Robert
